Tried out life with a bike stand for the first time today...

how on earth do you manage without one? Been doing stuff I've been putting off for ages all day. :D

Have been putting off getting one for years, but today had one of those moments when you see your surroundings afresh: three frames, a mower a full bike and lots of household gubbins in a workshop the size of an under fed caravan.

All of which means that I've relied on a pikey system of string and nail cleats to suspend the frames from the rafters to work on. (Bang your bonce on one and it sets of the others like wind chimes.)

How much and what do you look out for when buying a stand?

Certainly makes life more pleasant. I've now got used to just taking mine with me when people want me to look at their bikes.

I just decided it should be a solid and reliable and not that expensive, so a Park one for about a hundred quid made sense.

There's a few out there to choose from. Saw a good Topeak one with a scale in the top for weiging whole bikes :D , but I like Park stuff.

:D
