Hope Tech Lever question.

Hello,
What does the hole in the back of the clamp of the new Tech lever do? (it's hidden when it's on the bar). Does it need bunging up?
any help much appreciated!

I have these and just took it off for a look :?
It appears to be a cover for something,theres a 5mm allen key slot in it so im guessing its access to the lever internals :?

How are you finding them?
Im using a 160mm on the front[rear also] but the braking is pants :? ,im not sure if its contamination so i roasted the pads to burn off any solvent but theres not much improvement :?
My other brakes are saints and they damn near send you over the bars

To be honest, it's my cousin who's asking, but he's not on any forums! However, I'm using XT M765s (just like Saint M800s) and find them rubbish compared to his Tech M4s. They used to be really good though, so maybe I just need to rebuild them. I find there's more lever feel to Shimano brakes then Hopes, which seem a bit on/off to me.
