He must have measured the headtube dia wrong,they had 1 1/4" headtubes,although the odd one or two had 1",looks like its been re-bonded,no suprises there!

As wall-hanging art (I wouldn't try to ride it!) what an amazing frame/piece of history. Some people spend a couple grand on a painting. I'd rather have a C-26
