hi guys....been lurking here and lovin the retro bike content...lookin for one myself....

i have a qu...is there significance to 1997 being a cut off year for retrobikes..in other words bikes up to and bikes past that year being two different categories...or was that year as good as any to choose?

and i saw a mtb the other day while out and about which looked nice and was called an Alluminium-05

cant find any info on it but the welds looked lush..lol and judging by the spelling i would say it was American..any ideas?

hi welcome! i think 97 is considered a bit of a cut off as there was so much development up to then, it just kinda marked the enfdof the glory days. there'll be people here who can explain more poetically than i. i guess 97 was the start of the push to where we are today

 Oh No

Hi by the way :D

There's lots of threads concerning 'retro',have a look and if you're still unsure...keep it to yourself

it'll start a war of what is/isn't retro AGAIN! damn newbie trouble makers!!

see that 5 pointed star on the wall? stay on the roads and beware of the moon and don't forget your coat!!!

welcome!

basically there was a massive discussion of what was considered retro, coz retro means different things to different people, retro as in old or as in retro styled but modern, retro meaning pre disc brake or pre v brake or pre suspension etc etc etc . . . .. . dozing off yet? there are a million different perspectives on this! so we just won't go there!!

oh and expect to be broke in 6months time, this place is a money pit, see list below!

I realised in my time contemplating the retro thing ..is that ,it cannot be explained in words, its kind of a feeling you get if .......well ,see what i mean ?

hi, glad ive provoked the old retro chestnut for you lot again... :P

i'm lookin at gettin' a new hybrid on the ride/cycle to work scheme but keep lookin in the ads for something worthwhile thats retro........which the seller may not know the worth of...hehe... you all know where im coming from i'm sure...

i missed out on a puch mini sprint for 20 quid..had one as a kid...and a raleigh burner with skyway wheels, which got given away in the end i think..i was just too late

as for retro mtb's im liking pace, fuquay and funk... :D
