hi, a noob question.

I have brought a Marin mount vision 1997. For some reason the previous owner remover the chain and front derailleur. I know it should have a deore xt fitted. But there are no many to choose from. I have a fd m760a but it is a bit too long and very close to the tyre. Does anybody have a mount vision with original derailleur and would be able to check the part number on the back side of the derailleur.

here's a link to the 1997 Brochure, looking at the spec list yours was a combination of XT M739 and XTR M950

Thank you, I'll have a look on the bay of E. Out of interest where did you find out which derailleur it was, I found the catalogue pages but all it said was deore xt.

Your bike is running V brakes and they came out in late 96/97 so earlier XT were canti and had a lower M73x Number basically the groupset changed for 97

it can't be any higher as yours is reportedly a 97 model so it makes no sense to be 1998 or a 2000 era set up

Does this forum work on tapatalk? A couple of other forums I use are on it and it makes pictures easy as photobucket changed there usage a while back. PS thank you for the warm welcome

no it doesn't and there was a new board version in testing. no idea what happened to that.
