Help with seatpost size

Hi does anyone know what seatpost size this 198? Alpinestars cromega would be?

Are you sure that's an 80s frame? It looks c90 to me, with canti brake posts etc. The seat tube looks like it might be a Tange, possibly Prestige, with that characteristic ovalising at the base to maximise the weld area. If so, at a guess the seat post could be around a 26.4, if the tube is a 28.6, as they used to have 1.0mm wall thickness around then.

That's a very long-winded way of saying I don't know, isn't it? But if nobody on here can tell you from practical experience, trying somebody's 26.4 to see if it fits might be a starting point.

The cro mega e-stays are 29.4mm which I think is the same tubing. Try 'iwasgoodonce' think he has the catalogue for that year or makster who bought an original complete one off a vicar a little while back.

Sorry Mark, I have been meaning to scan the catalogue for ages. The actual description just says 'Lightweight Alloy, 300mm' for the seatpost. This could be the right page though. I think what it says is outside diameter is 33.0 and internal is 29.80.

Now can anyone tell me where i can buy a front mech and seatclamp for it at 33mm.............. it seems everyon only stocks 31.8mm or 34.? niether of which will be of use :-(
