Help with Peugeot rear axle size

rooby

Retro Newbie
After snapping up a bargain Peugeot road bike for £20, all in shape apart from a missing rear axle. It's now proving very difficult in working out what size replacement I need. Would any knowledgeable folk be able to help me out please? Does anyone have or have had the same bike that they would know the diameter and length? The frame serial number is Y711 53837 and there's a sticker on the stay that lists a code of PE10N 57. I've attached a few photos in the hope it'll help!

Re:

I personally would buy another donor bike rather than spend money on new parts, you should be able to pick up another similar bike for as little as £10-20 any sports model with 700c wheels would do . The bike you have is a really low spec sports model and the wheels on it are not great , to me it would not make sense to spend £6 & postage on an axle as the bearings are probably shot and the spokes are not even stainless so I suspect some will be brittle or loose? . Gumtree, preloved, ebay are full of bikes like this for small money :-)

Thanks everyone. Probably going to avoid the donor bike option as it's just more bike parts cluttering up the house. I'll give the axle previously linked a go and see if it fits, thanks again!
