Hi there I am finishing with my broadband provider on the 30th and I have my emails with there account. So I take it they will be shut down when I finish with them on the 30th. So I will be setting up new email address, so I will have to change it on different forums aswell. How do I do that on here?? Or do I have to start up again on here ??

Unless your service provider provides a mail forwarding service for a period of time, you'll have to collect all your email before you lose access to it. If you use Outlook or Mac Mail, those programs can be set up to retrieve all your messages from a mailbox for storage locally on your computer. That will at least let you have a copy of all your past email correspondence. As to email addresses you've registered on the various forums.... You'll have to change each and every one of them. But you should at least be able to keep the same screen names you've been using and combine with the new email address you'll use.

Thanks for the tip guys, we are going to not setup emails with the new provider this time. So don't have this problem again.

Which is the best to set up new emails with???

I like Googles offering. Very versatile for a web based email system. I actually have my jerky@multiplay address hooked up to my Gmail account too. Simply no need to use outlook any more, google does it all.

It's a good idea to use a web based email service if you use a lot of computers, with no real drawbacks. Really, I think email clients will quietly vanish over the next few years.

My account is with Fastmail.fm, great if you want to tinker, but a bit rubbish if you're not prepared to pay for one of the more full-featured accounts. I'm only with them because it's been my email address for at least 11 years.

Googlemail is also brilliant, although remember to log in via the secure version of the site if you're using unsecured wireless. Change your settings by clicking "Settings" at the top of the screen when you're logged in, and make sure the browser setting says "always use https" or something similar. All of the webmail providers ought to provide https, but it's amazing how many of them don't.

Who's your provider, I've used Force9 (aka F9/Plus.net now) since pretty much when it started. Though when I moved out of Sheffield I stopped paying for my account with them and dropped to the free account*. Now I can still use my old email address I've used since way back when. And still do via webmail and 'outlook'.

So what I'm saying is see if your provider does that.
