Hi all, long time lurker round here. Hope I can get some advice/help :)

This is an old Saracen frame that I've had since about 1993/94 - it was given to me by a mate, had been debadged, and had no components on it.

It has been through many incarnations over the years, I had it as a single speed beater bike at Uni in 1996 (way ahead of my time!)

For the last few years my dad has had it built up as a winter hack bike using a variety of old components he had lying around. I have no idea what the forks are - he thinks he bought them in Italy :?

I'm thinking of building it up, and getting some decals, etc. The paint is in remarkably good nick considering it's age and past use! I've got most of a 1992 Suntour XC Pro groupset - mechs, Brakes, levers, thumbies, cranks + Pace rings, BB (these all came off my old Explosif Pro - sadly stolen), and the wheels now on it are really nice 1991 XT hubs and Alessa rims. I also have some nice black Spinner forks that will suit it.

Anyway - can anyone tell me what model it is and a year? All help greatly appreciated. The code on the BB is - 0S03 0907 and there's a J on the other side. Here's some photos:

Looks about right - but the Tufftrax has only one cable stop on the top tube, and this one has all three. It also has a noodle for the brake rather than the cable stop at the top of the seatstays. Might be the next years model?

Brilliant! Cheers guys, that Sahara looks bang on.

Time to get started on the build :D

BTW, any idea on the forks - anyone ever seen that make before?
