Help: Giant ATX 990

I have a Giant ATX 990 that i rescued from the tip a while ago. It was only a frame with suspension and a derailleur. I mismatched some parts onto it and now have a working bike but i would love to know some information on it and where i could get some better parts etc. Any help or information would be appreciated. i will try and get a pic soon.

These things will take almost any parts you want to stick on them..
Aside from needing hose clamp adapters to run Maguras or Hydraulic Discs, almost anything will work.

Huge clearances for nice big tyres. Mine's running 650b wheels with 2.3" tread :mrgreen: Disc adapters can be got, or the seatstays swapped out for disc versions.
The suspension performance is excellent, but a bit squishy with a coil I found, so running air shock. The frame is light, but strong (aside from the paint, which is crap), so will take a beating but isn't a dead weight.
Low Mount front mechs can be a pain owing to the seattube/downtube strengthening, so high mount is better; nice short headtube lends itself well to short stem for snappy handling.
Tie the cables/hoses well, as the suspension travel makes them move about a lot otherwise. For 'better' parts, maybe eBay or the For Sale forum here!
