Guide to rebuilding retro bike

Is there a guide or thread on this forum showing how to strip/rebuild a bike?

I don’t need to know the mechanical side of things i.e. how to dismantle/rebuild a hub, brake, etc. as I have a book explaining this for anything I’m unsure of. What I need to know is how best to remove rust and grease off of different parts and what techniques/products are best for doing this.
Thanks,
CH

There is a restoration tips and tricks thread here

https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/restoration-renovation-hints-and-tips-thread-links.415856/
And this guy has a lot of info, the site is a bit hard to use after it was hacked/migrated, though

https://cycle.haus/mytenspeeds/
But i haven't seen a central "what brand Chemical works best" thread. That would actually be really useful, i don't know how many things i have tried, then that just sat around until i paid up to have it disposed of at the hazardous waste collection...
