Guess I'll be on this lounger all summer- what a bummer!

I spent yesterday in hospital, having stuff poked into my heart , to see what is causing a recurrence of my Angina (chest pains), that were last fixed 2 years ago.
Apparently, I need a heart by-pass operation, which should take place within 6 weeks, and will require 6-8 weeks of total rest and relaxation afterwards.
So, let's hope it's a nice one. Otherwise I'll be forced inside to watch every world cup match.
It's not all roses though; I'm self employed, so no work, no pay.
Someone always leaves a turd in the swimming pool... :?

Just got off the phone to the "Patient Pathway Co-ordinator" to see how far up the queue I am. Apparently , I'm not urgent, despite not being able to walk more than a hundred yards without a sit down, and I'm more likely to have to wait about 13 weeks than the 6 I was told. It seems that "about 6 weeks" is the stock response to waiting list questions.
On a more positive note, my Giro for £112 (two weeks sick pay) came through within a week of claiming it. Good to see Gordon had his priorities right. :roll:
