GT Xizang - a dream comes true

Hi, it's me again

Since 1993 I'm a GT rider, I worked hard beside school to buy my GT Zaskar - my first mountainbike (it is still in my hands).
But my really dream was a GT Xizang, but at this time it was unpayable for me.

I`ve had to wait 14 years until my dream comes true.
And then she arrived; it's not just a frame - it's a sculpture!

I think the frame is from 1997, but I don't know exactly.
It doesn't has (and it never had) a serial number, but was bought in a officially GT shop with full warranty.
I don't like the decals from 1997, so I put the nicer ones (originals) from 1995 on it.
By the way: this was first time I mounted a chris king headset - what a nice premiere!

I mounted the cantis in font of the pace fork - it works good.
Furthermore I assembled the bike with neon yellow Magura HS 33 at first:

But I was doubtful whether the neon color was too dominant on this discreet bike - so I mounted a black one. And this is the final result:

It rides very smooth - and I'm happy!
Only thing I'm looking for is a syncros seat post with vertical letters - 27,4 is needed, and this is really hard to find, unfortunately.

and i think the bright yellow from the racelines looks better but thats just me

lovely bike - pretty much perfect, but I preferred the yellow racelines too.

Well, I still have the yellow racelines... Hhhmmm...

The tires are tioga psychos in rare color "gun metal".

Very, subtlely, cool!
Surely it should be a 27.2mm 'post in there?
And just an observation: I think XTR M950/1/2/3 would compliment the black Syncros chainset a little better - M900 is too early for the frame and forks...

Yes, a 27,2 doesn't match - I really need a 27,4.
Most Xizangs have a 27,2 seatpost - unfortunately not mine.
Some friends in germany have the same problem with the lightning frame - of course it's from 1997, too.
