Devout Dirtbag
Hey guys, picked up a taquesta frame\headset\forks\cranks today at a swap meet for thirty bucks. Im converting it for a bike to use in the ''coaster brake challenge''

Questions:

Is it possible to use a 1 1\8th inch stem on this bike?
What size is the headtube?
Whats its seatpost size?

Depends on the year - if it's a threadless fork almost definitely 1 1/8th"

Depends on year - 26.8mm and 27.2 are common, post up a pic and people will be able to tell you more.

Thanks for the two seatpost options : ) ill take some pictures of it tomorrow when I bring it into the house.

The fork is threaded

''coaster brake challenge''

What's this ?, i take it you need to fit the bike with a coaster brake ?, do you know the hub width on these is narrower that an MTB frame ?, if you get one with a long enough axle they can be spaced out with washers or on a steel frame the stays can be bent in.

Also you cant run any kind of chain tensioner as it'll get crushed when the brake is applied.

All Tequesta's have been 1 1/8th since at least 1990, probably earlier.

Seat post on 90,91 and 92 Tange tubed bikes is 26.4. Dont know after that other than the 99 Reynolds tubed frame that takes a 29.6.

Hey guys, wanted to update for documentation, but the seatpost turned out to be the 26.4. I had to bend the stays in in order to fit the smaller axle coaster hub on. thanks for your help guys :D
