Seems a bit dodgy to me, but if it's a genuine bike, it's a corker. Don't see many carbon LTS' about (it's not an STS), let alone in this condition!

This is a full on scam !!

I did enquire about a month ago ...Got a iffy reply then googled the email address which is linked to various scams. I reported to Gumtree.

I enquired about it, here's the reply I got from "Tamara". The contact name in the ad was "James" :roll:

"The bike is still available for sale perfect working condition and visual comes with all original accessories from factory proof or purchase and 1 year remaining warranty
reply if you are interested in buying
thank you"

1 years remaining warranty? On a 16 year old CARBON bike? Is it me?

Thanks for your quick reply. Wow, I'm glad that is it's in perfect working condition, especially seeing as your selling it for what some people might call a suspiciously low price! I'm glad that it comes with "all original accessories from factory" too. Were thumbshifters still being produced by Shimano then? I thought they'd been replaced by Rapidfire a few years before the bike was produced? It seems odd that GT would spec a different shifter for the front and rear mechs, especially as the one for the rear mech was no longer being made at the time?

Also, it's the first time I've ever seen a rear disc brake being operated by a V Brake Lever. I wonder if this was some sort of new technology developed specifically for this bike??

Perhaps you could clear this up for me?

I'm also happy to hear that it has a years warranty remaining, especially seeing as the bike is now 16 years old. Gosh, a 17-year warranty on an early GT carbon frame. That's almost unbelievable!

Unfortunately past experience shows that Gumtree couldn't give
a toss about people selling stolen/iffy/mis-represented goods.
