GT Lightning Titanium for possible swaps

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have recently come across a gt lightning (circa 1997 I think), I already currently have a santa cruz chamelon (circa 1999 usa made) and I am currently building a dialled bikes prince albert. Im thinking of either single speeding and going super light (as much carbon as possible!), or perhaps swapping/selling for parts for my pa.

The frame has no cracks or major scratches but the stickers are bad, it is an 18" in size and comes with a suntour crank which seems ok and has no play in the bottom bracket which spins smooth. lx rear mech which is knackered, rockshox indy sl noit in the best condition and as crap as they were when they were new. yellow art stem to match the indies, deore front and rear hubs in decent condition, zac 19 rear and mavic front, suspension seatpost of unknown description sram x5 front shifter and deore rear.
There is a few parts of the frame which have gone a bit shiny so I got the 1000grit abalon on it then 2000 and then some brasso and it looked like new! so it might be turning into a xizang!

Looking to maybe swap for newer parts i.e wheelset (ck or xyclone), Cranks (atlas), brakes or what have you.

Hi, I've got a set of Greg Minnaar replica Formula Oro brakes. Only 250 pairs worldwide, these are number 222. I've got a load of adaptors, discs and spares to go with them: 2x 180mm discs, 200mm disc, 160mm disc, pair of 1 finger levers, pair of 2 finger levers, 2 sets new pads, bleed kit, lever pivot kit. Fancy a swap for the Lightning?

oooh very shiny and very tempting, i'm a bit unsure wether they will suit my purple prince albert though (I am trying to go for a purple and red colour scheme).

They'll look good on anything You could get one set of levers custom anodised in red or purple or one of each.
If you think about it, what brakes will go with your colour scheme? You've got a choice of black/grey, white or polished unless I'm missing something..?

The problem is they would probably look best on the bike I would be swapping for them!!! cheers all the same though

I recentley seen a lightning go on American eBay for just the frame at a little over 800 dollars and a Xizang for about 850. These were both in good condition, with a little bit of polishing and new stickers (about a tenner on eBay). I am probably gonna do this myself which will give it the appearance of the Xizang. Make me a sensible offer with this in mind
