GT Karakoram/Avalanche 1992 seatpost size

Just noticed on my 92 karakoram, the seatpost might be too small for it, the seatpost that was stuck in there was 26.4, but after searching around, it possibly should be 26.8 or 27, can someone clarify

My 91 and 92 Team Avalanches are the Made in Japan (Toyo) Prestige Concept frames and they take a 27.0mm. If memory serves me right those older Karakorams took a 26.6. Can't you get a vernier caliper in them and check them?

I only investigated, cuz the slot in the seat tube seemed quite pinched at the top, by the q/r

Sounds like somebody was running one that was too small.

Bothe avalaunche and the karakaram share the same frame material

Ah ok - maybe that's 26.8 too then..?

Think all the steel GT frames form '92 might be 26.8 - apart from Psyclone which is 27.2...

92 Bravado with True Temper GTX tubing is 27.0 if thats any help?
