That's lovely and wouldn't look out of place in my collection! But my money's already being spent on my next project!
How did that happen?I had one of these under warranty after I found a crack under the down tube / head tube intersection on my 1991 Daktari Avalanche. I much preferred the look of my original Avalanche vs. this Dalmatian scheme and also didn’t like the groove tube feature. Still a lovely machine though and sensibly priced and sized (for us shorties!)![]()
Used to do trials riding as wellHow did that happen?
That would be quite unusual for a chromoly steel frame, I would think?
I have the 91 Daktari White Avalanche myself, obviously bought used so no warranty if anything like that happened. And I only ride it to commute to work once a week or so.
I always felt it looked like a Dalmatian dog! I hammered my first Avalanche frame, in fact I’ve just remembered I did the same thing to the replacement frame!!! And I ended up getting a Zaskar by paying extra and I never managed to break one of those…Just bad luck with that frame I guess, someone lingered a little too long with a torch and left a weakness.
I've just checked and this is the Dry Ice 92 finish and not the Dakar 91 finish that the seller suggests - I thought it was wrong!
Looks like a 16” to me. I used to measure the chainstays (16.5”) on pictures to help me work out what a 16” version would look like as the catalogues always had BIG framed bikes photographed. Wiltshire isn’t too far from West London and then tie in visiting somewhere en route…I am a little tempted... mainly because I think it is actually a 16" in GT units, do you agree?
Can I be ar*ed to drive to Wiltshire though....?
