Morpeth
Hi Simon, am coming up to Morpeth on the 8th May for a walking weekend and staying a couple of nights, with some of the crew from work. Is there much of night life in Morpeth? places to avoid etc?

I live in Morpeth too, so i thought i'd stick my nose in...
The town has a reasonably good night life, but it depends what ur looking for...
Some of the bars on the main shopping street (Bridge Street) can be a bit chav at times....not too bad though...If u want to trawl a few bars with the lads this is ok i guess (busier fri & sat nights as u'd guess), but if u want a few nicer/quieter pubs try The Sun (Food not bad either), The Black & Grey (traditional boozer), or The Waterford (v busy on fri & sat again, but with a slightly older crowd, has pizza restaurant attached...not sure on quality of food though as its new). Nice to sit out in the beer garden behind the Waterford if the weather is good
I quite like The Ridley Arms @ Stannington which is good for relaxing on a sunday with the paper and lunch (though food is mid-high end of price-range). Stannington is just a few miles from Morpeth south on the A1, in fact u'll pass it as u come up!!
