i might be wrong, but there's something dodgy about that frame...it doesn't look like an orange to me

Yup, it's a Gringo alright.

nice bikes, I had one for 5 years ('03 version) sold it a few months ago for £325 delivered, was specced with XT (gears), Hope (stem, brakes, QR's etc), Thomson...

Shame to sell it ,but having a dodgy back & no job at the time...

not bad at all for £50, the frame new would have cost £350 (in '03)
