Hey, I bought a pair of vector 2's (i think) and the seller said the only thing that was missing was the bolt for the top of the shock - fair enough.

Got the forks and it appears that he has sent me the rear shock for a proflex as it is a noleen shock and in no way will it fit into where it is supposed to be.

He is being an ars...e about it.

does anyone know whether I can get a replacement shock and mountin bolts?

The mounting bolt is a pretty simple affair - just a long bolt that screws in at one end of the ULM (the alloy lump). But you'll need the bushes etc.

As for a shock they come up on ebay from time to time. Others have made standard shocks fit it. Have a look here for some ideas and ask around:

do you know where i can get the bushes from. Also the steerer is 1 inch but there is a lump around the base that looks larger than 1 1/8th

any odeas?

I believe the the fork came standard as 1", but the bike was shimmed from 1 1/8.

And you are right, a Noleen shock probably won't fit into the vector. Originally the fork came with the friction/elastomer shock, or the girvin ODS shock. The only replaceable/aftermarket shock I know of is the Risse Genesis.

Do you have any pictures?

there was a noleen shock made to fit the girvin forks , it has a shorter shaft than the normal rear shock , i know as i have one on my girvins
