Good people of Retrobike - I have a couple of boxes to send to my daughter but she doesn't have very good arrangements for leaving packages and won't be at home when they're delivered.

Am I right in thinking some couriers will leave packages at suitable local shops by prior arrangement?

How does that work?

cheers

Re:

Yes, it's called 'Collect Plus', haven't the first idea how it works though, presumably certain shops agree to be drop off points, think it's the same ones you can also drop off parcels for delivery to.

I only know this as someone was trying to convince me to use it the other day, when I wanted to use Yodel through work. It's part of Yodel, apparently.....

Not used the collect bit yet. I have sent quite a few things and dropped them off at the collection/drop-off point. I used my hermes for a load of small stuff a few weeks ago and yesterday I used UPS. I drop off at a local shop and they pick it up and deliver as usual.
First time I heard of it was collect+, my brother lived next door to a shop that was a collection point. so he used to have stuff delivered by collect+ if he could, it meant they just nipped next door when they came home from work and collected. I was 6 miles from the nearest shop that did it.
Look on parcel2go, get a quote, some will be drop-off or collection.
