hello all ..ok i ride woodland trails tracks etci like up hill riding too <dont like down hill action> and city commute i have 7 speed thumb shifters and was wondering what gear combos anyone can suggest ..seven speed ...what up front and at the rear cheers this site is the best !

make it simple ang go singlespeed- you won't have to worry about gears at all.

Forget the single speed. I run 2 chainrings at the front 44 t is the big & 30 some thing for the 'small' Then a big spread at the back 12 - 34 cass this covers me for every thing. If you are using a granny then you could run a closer cass.

i have a charge plug single speed and had an old single speed racer too i have rode for last two years but now would like to get back to some sort of gears ..selling the plug this year ..and the racers gone now too.......just orange ali o 91 its starting to take shape now..just got wheel set blue middlebrn cranks soon too ..trying to find a good set of light cantilever brakes iro cafam ? cant seem to find a place in the uk that sells them

I remember my xt thumbies had an extra click, not sure about suntour though.

I ran 8 speed with a 7 speed shifter no problems.
