garage sale - Salsa stems, XT thumbies, Mavic MTB cranks!

I am having a little sale to redistribute goods to others who have better use for these items. I am very particular about my bikes, so my descriptions are realistic. I rate first on mechanical condition and secondly on aesthetic condition.

I am located in Switzerland, so shipping may be a bit more costly - just shoot me a mail for a quotation. All prices are in USD, just coz . . . payment must be via Paypal.

1) $25 Salsa SUL stem: 1.125" x 135mm x 10deg x 25.4 (or 26.0mm) used on my MTB, so some scratches, etc, but a classic design. Love these stems, but going oversize rules them out. This was not one of the recalled stems, as per Salsa's advice. 9/10 and 6.5/10

2) $25 Salsa SUL stem: 1.125" x 120mm x 25deg x 25.4 (or 26.0mm) used on and off on my commuter, so not much wear. High angle is very useful for weird projects where one usually is stuck using cheap alu stems. This was not one of the recalled stems, as per Salsa's advice. 9/10 and 8/10

3) $15 SRAM cassette: 12-26 9spd. Tried to use this with Campy 9spd ergos and it never worked. 200km and canned that experiment. This is like new. 9.5/10 and 9/10

4) $15 Tektro inline brake levers: for 26.0mm bar. Black, basic, worked well, but in the end, I decided to go without them. 9.5/10 and 8.5/10

5) $60 Mavic MTB cranks: 175mm x 110mmBCD well used and scraped up, but serious cool factor because they're Mavic MTB cranks! Overbuilt and clunky, but pretty sweet when looking for an unusual crankset. 7/10 and 5/10. $75 with Surly chainring (below).

6) $25 Surly stainless chainring: 110 x 38t. On the Mavic crankset as an SS setup. Indestructible with just 200km on it - these last forever. 9/10 and 9/10. $75 with Mavic crankset (above).

7) $25 Raceface thermoseal headset: 1.125" threadless. used, came off my MTB when I installed a King. Very nice headsets. 7.0/10 and 6/10.

8) $65 (SOLD) Deore XT thumbshifters: 7 (maybe 8spd) These are in excellent condition. I moved into the modern age with 8spd STIs recently (!) and took these off. VERY crisp and precise shifting, these are the 'Holy Grail' of old school shifters. I thought I noticed bubbling on the top caps, but realized that there was a protective film layer on them all along that are just starting to peel off now. If you peel the film off, these will look almost new! 8.5/10 and 8.5/10.

9) $15 SOLD Surly SS spacer kit: black. Used with an SS cog (see above) to space a cassette hub for use in SS applications. 9.8/10 and 9.8/10

NOT pictured:

10) $60 Deda Zero 100 seatpost. 27.2 x 280mm. Gunmetal grey, never used and in box. 10/10 and 10/10, obviously.

17) $40 Specialized Houffalize cross tires. 700 x 32mm folding. VERY nice tires, but I want something a bit wider. used on road for 10km. as new, looks new. 9.9/10 and 9.5/10.

hi interest in xt thumshifter
any pic ?
any ref to make sure about how many speeds they are ?
can they work indexed and friction ?
where are you in Switzerland ? ( I am in Geneva so is pickup possible ?)
thanks

Could I get a close up pic of the disks on top of the thumbies ?

If they are as good as I am looking for I will take them.

Cheers,

WD :-)

Updates

several inquiries about the Mavic cranks -

they are 175mm and 110bcd (of course). They work great and I forgot to mention that I will through in a Shimano cartridge BB to match. Like the crank, it looks pretty worked over, but it spins smoothly and is the appropriate length.

Located in Geneva, so pickups are welcomed, though unlikely.

I will hold off on detailed photos, as someone in Geneva has already asked for the thumbies, so I will let hiim inspect in person before posting more photos here.

Surly ring is sold separately from the Mavic crankset (for $25US) I just left it in the config that I last used it in, but they are separate items.

38t ring is quite useful for a big gear singlespeed (I usually ride road bikes, so I get frustrated by tiny gears :) )

Stay tuned for my Indy Fabrications singlespeed for sale - modern/retro at it's best...

Thumbies still here

My local connection for the sale of the thumbies has passed, so they are still here.

They are SH- M732 models. I would think that these have the 8spd 'ghostshift' capacity, but why bother? Stick a 7spd cassette on there and call it a day. A perfect day.

top view as well

Sorry - trouble with image - I don't mean to bombard the thread!!!

The plastic film has just started to peel. It should've been peeled off when new, but I never noticed it. Once removed, the caps will look as new. I could have peeled the covers off for the photos, but I'd rather leave them protected for the next owner and give them that pleasure.

The levers and body have small nicks, but are in top condition.
