Ok posted before about chainring spacers and looking at the chainset both middle and inner mount on the same face, so my theory goes that whatever the space is between chainrings on a 8 speed set up is the size of spacer I need.

So my question is what is the gap between chainrings?

The gap between inner and middle chainrings have to be the same as the middle and outer chainrings, if you measure that gap, then you have a rough idea what size spacers you need, if unsure take chainrings and crank to a good bike shop and they should be able help you.

Cheers folks

P20 they are Kooka cranks and syncros rings

guybe theres not a decent LBS for 100 miles, :roll:I could roughly size them but seeing as ring spacers come in 0.1 of a mm and reckoned there must be a standard size for ring spacing and thought someone may know it already.

mmm, it can be tricky, I think you have to take your chances choosing the sizes you wish for after measure the gap between middle and outer chainrings, maybe try for a slighty bigger and if too wide then you can file it down abit, the gap have to be correct to make it work smoothly.

Good luck :)

I've just taken a Curve chainset to pieces (well, partly) and it took ages (well, a minute) and the spacers between the granny and the middle are 4.5mm thick.

As the rings are standard for any chainset and the gap between them must be standard for any chainset (elsewise the shifter and fm wouldn't know where they were in relation to one another), my guess is the thickness of the spacer must be standard. If I'm wrong, I apologise.
