Just found this line in a discussion on anodizing at Rec.bicycles.tech.

“There was a time you could purple anodize a bucket and mountain bikers would find a way to bolt it on.”

Cant deny the truth of that.

Did you say you 'had' a purple bucket :?

Thinking of selling it?

Are you looking at getting some anodizing done? I want to get a set of chainrings and a pair of rims gold anodized but wouldn't know where to look.

this bucket, is it the light weight version with the holes in? and is it purple or lilac in colour?

I’d like to try some DIY home anodising, so I’ve just been trying to find out the best way to do it at home.

...and don't forget to use the ti-dyed titanium bolts, not that they're any better but they do cost more which must count for something
