Hi,

A mint pair of unused Gripshift SRT800 X-Ray, the only issue with these is the 'x-ray' sticker residue, not sure how this happened. I removed the cables from these some time back, other than that they are perfect. I might also have the grips and instructions somewhere, if I find these I'll happily send them on to the buyer.

£25ono

Stay upright,

Craig

OK, here goes....

I worked for a bike shop early-mid 90's, my bikes at that time were usually demos from the shop. However, a Bontrager Privateer Race was bought on the slate. I worked in that shop without taking much home in my PT pay packet. A nice bike was more important than essentials, my student grant/travel expenses (remember them!?) was spent very wisely. Prior to the Bonty, my favourite bike (demo) was a lovely Klein fitted with gripshift. The Bonty had XT throughout and I couldn't afford or justify a swap to gripshift.

A customer bought a new klein based on a demo ride. He didn't like gripshift on the demo and paid a 'bit' extra for xt shifters. The gripshift from that brand new klein, where stripped from the unbuilt bike. The boss made an offer for the gripshift that I couldn't refuse. I did intend to fit them, but grew to like the XT set-up. The gripshift have sat lonely in a box with host of other bits and bobs for years, possibly the reason why they look 'unused' to you. If you want a closer look, why don't you buy them?

The Bonty has since left the stable, in fact, fellow retrobike member Fenton bought it. He was pretty stoked at the condition, I look after all my kit.

I've enjoyed replying to your post, the memories of that time are full of fun, beers in the shop on a Saturday and exploring trails on the Sunday.

You have some nice bikes, the main brands that we sold where Trek, Klein and Marin. Marin whereby far the most popular.

Stay upright,

Craig

Hi Ben,

That should be ok, kinda odd though, I've just been skyping friends in HK.

What age and colour is your race-lite?

Could you provide a postcode and I'll check the price with insurance. Paypal is my preferred mode of payment.

Cheers,

Craig
