FS Merlin XLM

Here is the build thread.

http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... n&start=45

I finished the build but am finding it doesn't quite fit...a little short on the top-tube for me. I have tried a longer stem but still not for me.

This sale thread is for the frame only.

Seat-tube is 18" centre to top
Seat-tube is 16" centre to centre (of top-tube)
Top tube is 21.5" centre to centre actual and a bit longer effective
Head-tube is 4"
Takes 27.2mm seat-post
BB is 68mm
Head-tube is 1&1/8th
The frame is 2002/2003 right on the cusp when Merlin were changing to disc brake etc. This frame was ordered by the original owner who I bought it off. He specified no V brake studs but the cable stops are not hydraulic friendly so you have to use adaptors. I have used self adhesive cable guides under the top-tube for a clean look. The frame uses Merlin's disc adaptor.
Metal head-tube badge.
Original decals are excellent (unusually so for a Merlin)
A little cable rub that I have not cleaned off as the frame is just fab anyway. No dings etc etc

Weight is 3lb 1oz

Sale price of £750 + shipping and is for the frame only. If you fancy the DK forks add £200. If you want the black CK headset add £50.

Please reply here followed by a pm if you are interested.

Oh...if I sell this I will buy another DK frame with disc mounts that I know is available locally. If you have similar we could look into PX etc

Thank god this is too small for me, or I'd be in trouble right now..

GLWS fella.. 8)

 Thanks Steve

I am interested in equal quality steel frame disc only...seat-tube needs to be 17.5-18.5" dependent on slope of top-tube. Top-tube wants to be 22.25-22.5"
IF Dekerf Soulcraft etc...the usual suspects :D

How much for the disc break adapter? Would be perfect for my Merlin :D

£750 + shipping. Really...think about it, who in their right mind would sell the disc adaptor leaving the frame with no way of attaching a brake

Good luck in your search

The most beautiful ti frame you can buy (mmm..maybe a Kish beats it) still for sale

How tall are you Carl ?

I might be interested but have to find some info about the frame, length of suspension its build to and so.

What are the problem with the cable holders ?

Last will you send to Denmark :)

Cheers

Hi Carsten

I am about 5'9" or about 1.75m. My legs are short and torso long.

The suspension would be 80mm travel

There is not a problem with the cable holders...it is just that the cable holders are not hydraulic friendly so you have to use adaptors for the hydraulic rear hose.
I have used stick-on cable guides like these under the top-tube and it works swell...quite neat really.

Shipping to Denmark is fine but I would have to check the cost of shipping for you. Basic shipping by Parcelforce is about £22 but we would need to add insurance.
