I have a 'spare' late-period Super Record crankset (as you do). Originally bought to adorn my TI Raleigh Team rebuild (still unstarted
:roll: ) it became surplus when I got a nicer one from ededwards - so it can go to a good home. I've attached a few pics below, and I've tried to show some small issues as clearly as possible. I'm looking for £50 posted for the whole lot.
The cranks are a late model unfluted Super Record in moderately rare 172.5mm length. They've been modded by a previous owner for use one a singlespeed/fixie - so the ring mounting tabs on the spider are gone and the tip of the NDS crank has been relieved a bit. I have two rings to include - the original Super Record 42T inner and a Nuovo Record 44T inner - as well as a NR asymmetric bottom bracket. Crank bolts and washers and dustcaps will all be included and are now in better condition than the ones pictures (thanks Tel!).
There are a couple of nicks in the NDS crank, just visible in the pic - they're a bit clearer in real life but this gives an idea of how small they really are. They would definitely come out with a bit of effort with wet'n'dry. The chamfering to the inner crank end of the NDS crank can also be seen in the side-by-side, end-on pic of both.
You can also see that the inner ring tabs have been machined away pretty neatly. However, since this was originally a double ring setup the chainring bolt holes have not been countersunk on the inside of the crank arms so the female parts sit proud on the insides of the arms. You could countersink them yourself but it's not really necessary especially with the correct BB.
The BB is NOS and as far as I can see has never been mounted. Super Record cranks should use the asymmetric 115mm spindle to have the right chainline and chainstay clearance. The asymmetry can be seen in the pic of the spindle - the right taper is about 5mm longer. I also included a pic of the spare chainring. The 44T mounted ring is a Nuovo Record while the 42T is a Super Record, and probably one of the original ones. Both in very good condition with years of life left.
The original crank bolts and washers were in bad shape as can be seen in the pic but thanks to Tel these have now been replaced by far better ones. I have another pair of dustcaps to include as well, again in far better condition than those pictured.
I don't know where the mark on the inside of the DS crank came from - it's obviously not toe-strap rub! In any case it's not visible when the cranks are mounted and the outer faces are in very good condition. I've tried to photo the Campag logos for you but my camera is dying and I'm a crap photographer too, sorry!
