Hi!
For sale is my mechanic-owned and upgraded Trek 3900 with barely used Rockshox Pilot SL fork
Reason for sale: Simply a little too big for the type of riding I want to do so helping to finance a new bike.
Specs/condition:
FRAME - '06 Trek 3900 (great condition)
FORKS - '05 Rock shox Pilot SL (Brand new condition. 80mm travel)
WHEELS - 26" Shimano Alivio (7 speed rear) - great condition non-disc wheels with maxxies tires and brand new schwalbe tubes.
DRIVETRAIN - Shimano cranks (175mm) with Azonic magnesium pedals (the pedals are quite rough condition but still usable). Deore LX front and rear derailleurs - new high quality kmc x9 chain and new lx cassette
BRAKES - hardly used Avid FR5 v-brakes with brand new Avid Speed-dial levers - very nice feel and great braking power.
HANDLEBARS - Easton EA50 monkey bars cut down to 22.5" - scott grips and metal bar end caps.
STEM - Titec Big Al 100mm - new condition with brand new x-lite stem cap.
SADDLE - Bontrager titanium - great condition with no rips
It's worth more but £150 ovno for quick sale
Cash on collection from Mansfield
If you want any further info just ask - I look forward to hearing from you!
Extra info: While giving the bike a last check over ready for sale I've noticed the rear derailleur has become a bit slack due to it's age (still shifts great) and if you backpedal when in the largest gear at the back it rumbles the jockey wheel on the cog. Doesn't stop you riding the bike but I'd rather be honest. Wouldn't cost much to get a new one. The chain and cassette are already brand new and the chainset is not worn so should last ages.
Also the rear cassette is actually a brand new 8 speed with one cog removed to fit the 7 speed freehub - the chain is 8/9 speed compatible as are the cranks which have very little wear on the teeth. The deore shifters are new 9 speed rapidfire - the rear mech has been limited and adjusted so indexing works well as 7 speed. However this setup has not been ridden more than one or two light rides so the components can be reverted to 8/9 speed with no uneven wear
I will seriously consider splitting the bike. collection preferred - postage and grouping/mix of items can be discussed:
£45 for the frame inc. saddle, seatpost etc, headset, both mechs and possibly the BB
£60 for the forks including x-lite cap
£25 for the 7speed wheels not including rear cassette
(I do have an old 7 speed cassette with a little wear in and a set of new condition 7 speed rapidfire shifters I can include if you like)
£25 for the full set of v-brakes (front noodle is broken where the outer cable fits but easy/cheap to fix) inc. the brand new speed dial levers
£20 for the Stem, bars, grips & end caps
£40 for the drivetrain (8speed cassette, chain and cranks and possibly BB
- The new 9 speed deore shifters can be included with any of the above for £6 extra.
Cheers
