Freehub replacement for DT Hügi rear hub

Hi guys,

I got a lovely pair of wheels waiting to be put to use in my vintage cx bike. When I tried to fit a Shimano cassette on the freehub though, I realised it was missing a small spline, e.g. the freehub has an older style Campagnolo spline instead of a Shimano spline.

The wheels feature older style DT Hügi hubs, like the ones pictured below. Is it possible to replace the freehub on these hubs with a more recent model freehub and if so, which do I need? The reason I am asking this, is because a period correct freehub is pretty much impossible to find.

Might Chicken & Sons (www.chickencycles.co.uk) be able to help out as UK importers, or am I getting DT-Hugi mixed up with Edco-Sapim cartridge bearing hubs? :?

hi,can you not use campag sprockets and change thickness of spacers and run 8sp.
campag do shimano 9/10 sp splined hub bodies for their new wheels
but even if that free hub body is genuine campag 8.i don't know if the 9/10 will fit in
its place. be too easy would'nt it
how are they made ? by casting ?
could a spline be ground to suit or lost.
good luck swjland
