has anyone had any experiance with this? i looked into it back in september. we had a guy come and look at the roof and since then i have been given several lame excuses as why i cant have it instaled. the first was the pitch of the roof is wrong, next is the roof is to small along with the ground is not level so scafolding cant be put up and access to the loft is not sufficient.
today i was woken up by scaffolders next door and it looks like all the council houses in our road are getting solar panels. all the propertys are the same in the street so im a bit confused as to why we were refused.
is it worth seeking out diffrent supplyers?

all the council houses around here had it done too. there was an incentive where a grant was given but that finished in december. we are in a maisonette, private not council, but the lady below us is council. she was really miffed that they didn't do our block. they never even asked us if we wanted it so assume it was some council deal.

Our house is ideal for solar energy, large south facing roof. However, we are moving later this year to a purpose built bungalow with disabled facilities for our son. We have insisted that it has solar panels for hot water and electric 8)

we had them fitted about 8 months ago, they are the most pointless thing i've ever seen. Produce practically naff all electricity and wouldn't be worth doing if it hadn't been for the government scheme at the time.

They don't produce enough leccy to boil a kettle, my uncle also had them done and his mains electricity was knocked out by a storm, thinking oh well i've got solar panels i will be ok he found out the hard way that they didn't even power his pump to get the water out from his well...so he spent a fortnight living in darkage style conditions waiting for the leccy to be fixed.

Well it has a cool metre that tells me how much its producing so i could nip down and tell you the power its putting out when its sunny out, so not likely any time soon...but yeah disappointed, only made sense because they were installed with a 20 year mortgage from the government and they were offering a good rate on the leccy produced.

i wonder if we get more sun down here in so called sunny bournemouth? if the last year is anything to go by then im not to hopefull

Yeah south facing roof in spain perhaps but i have found them to be a bit of a scam to be honest, the subsidised rate of electricity made it worth doing at the time but i don't know what the scheme is like now.
