You realise that you can replace the rod with a longer one to make a rear? Just bastardise an old rear!

I didn't know that. But as I already have a pair, I won't try it. You'd just find another rear skewer of similar design and swap its rod over, would you? *The lever might need a bit of persuasion - in this case, I would use an adjustable spanner on the cam end of the lever with the spanner in line with the lever itself (i.e. at right-angles to the rod) but opposite the lever so as not to damage the lever itself.
