Does anyone know what forks would be on a lts 500. 97 frame cheers

Just to clarify, it's a 1997 GT LTS-5 or does it actually say 500?

For a 1997 LTS-5 the fork spec'd would be a RST 381M

Could it be a 1999 bike? No lts-5000 in 1998 catalogue.

Google image search suggests that Sync forks were catalogue spec. They don't look great.

Are they grey might just pick a set that matches bike it's got manitou comp on now but they don't look right not sure what year have to look at frame num I think it starts with mt

Any fork will work in theory, but imo the frame is quite burly looking so I'd be looking for something that suits it looks wise. More modern forks have wider diameter stanchions so the lower legs are wider too, so may suit the look. Is it a disc or v frame? Plenty more options disc wise for 26 inch wheels, but v ones are out there. If it were me and v brake, I'd be looking for a reba or fox with v brakes or marzocchi I'd say. Air forks are lighter, coil more fit and forget.

You'll need a 1 1/8 steerer long enough of course, and travel to suit the frame. I'd guess 100mm to 120mm would work fine.
