Ok, I have some Tioga suspension forks (Shockblades?) that are delivering approximately 1mm of plush, buttery smooth travel. Should I

a) service them (how?)?

b) leave them alone and treat them as heavy rigid forks and enjoy the comfort giving flex and planted front end?

I dont think you need to service them as , you must have the 'long travel' ones there ... so just make the most of them as they are

It sounds to me as though they are working perfectly. :)

I remember riding a bike fitted with a brand new pair of those forks back in the day and they only had about 1mm of travel then.

nice looking fork though

If you serviced them the original rust may be worn off the stanchions. Leave them as they are, a lap of the MM course could knock a bit more travel out of them - 2mm?

I didnt think you were in to suspension Ed?

No I'm not really but thought I might wean myself in slowly with just the 1mm of travel and see if I like it

Shockblades are easy to service but not worth the hassle for what little return in the form of travel that you get.

They do look good as forks go and are quite light so keep them as a rigid.

cheers

Why dont you try a flexstem first? I used one for a season before going the whole hog and buying forks.
