Cracks on the Foes swingarms were common, I had mine (various ones) re-welded and they worked perfectly fine afterwards. Him 'finding' it in the loft thought is ringing a few alarm bells with me mind!
Although not going to bid on this, if it were mine I'd fit a coil shock and it will totally rip the trails with a good 6" travel fork up front.
