Hello all retro bikers, I'm thinking of buying a road bike and I have come across a Holdsworth Esprit. Its in vgc, 14 speed, qr wheels. It doesnt have drop bars.

I cant find out anything about this model so I was hoping that someone could provide some details about its original spec and maybe anything I should particularly look out for when I go to view it. Also what its value may be.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Nathan

I see a Reynolds sticker on the down tube. Is it 531 or 501 or what. Tubing will affect value. If its 50 quid buy it anyway. Those are chopped down drops I reckon so just whip the tape of and put on some drops.

Judging by the components, it's probably early 1990s - fit a suitable set of bars and stem and you'll return it to it's former glory. £60 is a decent price.

UPDATE.
I've spoken to the guy tonight and he says its got Mavic wheels whatever that means and a biofaze crank?
Its a different language to me. :? :?
New tyres and he can get me a set of drop bars.
Viewing now on Friday afternoon all being well.

Biopace

Definately a can of worms question
Google q rotor a modern take on the biopace that is good enough for wiggins
