Filling Dents

My Joe Waugh frame has a couple of shallow dents that I fancy trying to fill with brass.

Has anyone got any real world experience of doing this?

The frame owes me nothing so if it doesn't go as planned it's not really a big deal.

Brass has quite a high melting point. Bitd we used silver solder for small dents

Yeah, I was just reading that. I might get some silver solder rods from work and have a bash.

On reflection, back then our "silver" solder would have had a lot of lead in it, not sure you can get that sort of thing now?

Lead loading was/is used on the bodywork of classic cars. I suspect you could use the lead for bike frames as well?

Yep, 'hot leading' was an option back then but I think it might be frowned on nowadays as lead is just a tad poisonous.
