Wow, that's a cool couple of pics 8) 8) 8)

And I never realised that Tim rode a '90 AlMega XT back then.. (should've had a nice big 'tache to be like Mike!!  )

Hopefully he'll spot this thread  :D

Like the picture with him cycling out of the bushes as if some one is chasing him. no doubt a large group of mtbers

I've just done a double-double take and I can't see a chainstay behind his calf in the second picture. Am I going mental......?

It's a conventional frame too, none of that E-stay nonsense... :D

Yes, yes you are..
Mind i spent 5 minutes looking at it and came to the same conclusion!

Then I looked again and engaged my brain - the crank and pedal/toe clip are in the way (toe clips!)

I'd heard a rumour that he used to insist his chainstays were cut to aid flex and save weight

Cor blimey I used to own a pair of those shorts. Talk about loud.

Still, I maintain that Alpinestars was THE coolest brand of mountain bike ever seen. Why o why did they stop making them?

That EOS, whilst quirky, was the single most important thing in the world to me at 13. I was the only one with a "different" looking frame.

Last time I saw Tim Davies was at some bike show a looooong time ago. He was my hero!!

Do you know what happened to the guy misteracp?

OK I feel like a plonker. flyingwelshman = Tim Davies?

I feel honoured to share forum bandwidth with you!

Gash, this makes me want to find a Ti-Mega even more now. I feel a domestic coming on when the wife realises I've blown the housekeeping on a bike frame.

Where were they taken?

I *think* I took them at a show/race near Bristol in 1990.....I'll dig out exactly where tomorrow

The other one where you have the XC Durango bars I'm unsure, but it was 1992..
