Fat Chance Titanium

So I picked up this frame which was sold as a Fat Chance Ti Fat. Serial number looks right, it has the signature dropouts, anti chainsuck mount/bolts... BUT... Cables routed along the top of the top tube, and also has a disc brake mount on the rear. I've trawled the internet and yet to find a photo of one with a disc brake mount. Is this really a Fat Chance?...

Cant help on actual ID not owning one but would ask if the welding on the disc mount matches all the other welding on the frame ?.
Stands to reason the same welder would have done all the work at the same time. A difference would indicate its likely been added.

That seat tube reduction, the coned rear chainstay/seatstay ends and t he Tooth Pick anti-chainsuck mounts all scream Fat Chance, so probably a modded frame (disc mount) or a one-off build. Why not post it on the Fat City FB or instagram page and ask a question there?

its definately a fat chance titanium. the wishbone seatstays are fat era, standard seatstays are serotta era. that disc brake mount looks to be later addition, the few disc brake mount fat chance titaniums I've seen had the older 22mm hayes disc mount, not the newer style 51mm IS mount.

Re:

Its most likely a later addition modified disc because its a 94/95 era wishbone stay frame ( no BB sleeve welds as found on 92/93 frames ) and they switched rear triangle design around 96/97. There were a few of the very last Ti frames ever made fitted with disc tabs. Nice looking frame 8)

Re:

Looks to be genuine but the disc mount is a later add on. The only disc Fat I've seen had Hayes mounts and that was right at the end of Fats first life long after frame production had moved to NY. That looks to be a 1995 judging by the rear brake hanger and NY decal.

If you concerned I'll do a deal against my Merlin frame of the same size as I'm really missing owning a Fat Chance.

Re:

Oh and I'm sorry about that Tim.. :xmas-wink:
