Falcon Banana - help please

Hi all,

I'm new to the site and would greatly appreciate some advice.

I have recently dragged my old Falcon Banana bike from the depths of my garage and decided it needing pimping a little before setting forth on it.

One of the first changes I made was to get a new saddle and seat pin.

Seat pin I bought was micro-adjustable jobby with diameter of 25.4 mm.
I had wrongly thought it was size I needed, wrong answer, it was slack as the proverbial yak.

I know I need seat pin bigger than 25.4mm but not sure of exact size, is there an idiot proof way of measuring old seat pin so I'll know what to order or even better does anyone who has been working on a Falcon Banana know what size seat pin is needed.

A vernier calliper is the easiest way to measure the old seatpin. Most bike shops have one, so if you wander in with the old seatpin you should be in luck!

Thanks very much for that info Hamster - I'll now investigate whether your suggestion is indeed 'idiot proof'....
