Fake Kona Fire Mountain?

If you were going to fake a bike, why on earth would you fake a fire mountain? That's the problem with kids today - no ambition! I'd have got all out for a Hot or explosive, or paint it silver a call it a Hei Hei!

It's so fake it hurts.. You only need to look at the rear facing welded seatclamp. No kona to my knowledge ever had this

I'm sorry, mynchiboy, but even the owner of two Hots can't be right all the time and I'm not sure you are on this occasion.

I think the 1988/89 Fire Mountain shown below belongs to Heathy of this parish, and it certainly has a similar rear-facing seat clamp, it has the same rear U-brake, it has similar pre-P2 forks and it has a slightly 'pre-Kona' shape. So it *could* be that the eBay bike is a repainted 88/89 FM, with 94 decals. I wouldn't bet on it, and I share Guy's doubts, but it could be. I don't like the look of the forks though, they don't seem to have enough offset to me, but it could be a trick of the photo I suppose.
