Elastomers for Marzocchi 3s

Hi there

Anyone out there know the best way to get a set of Marzocchi 3 forks "re-done" - what I mean by that is that I have bought them "empty" so they are going to need elastomers (I'm guessing) - I believe there is a firm in the US that will ship me what I need but is there an easier way and is it likely that all I need are the elastomers?

Don't even want to think about fitting them but how hard is it???

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt
The forks are manitou 3's, they could not be easier to replace the elastomers. All you need to do is unscrew the blue top caps, when you lift them out there is a long kebab style skewer attached to the bottom of it. You thread the new elastomers and spacers onto it with a little grease, pop them back in, screw the adjuster back into place and you are away. It should not take more than 1 minute...or maybe 2.

Jesus Dan, did I really say "marzocchi3" - what was I thinking mate? My total bad. Cheers for this tho - big help. I just stumbled across a couple of threads about having Kleins resprayed - as advised on here, think I might leave as is eh????

Looking forward to the postie coming knocking

Speak soon

I would definitely leave it and enjoy it for what it is. I personally think an unscratched mountain bike of that age is a soulless beast, think of it in denim terms, are the dark jeans that look like they have just been lifted from an inkwell or the scraped ones with threadbare crotch and oily knees the ones that look cool? I will go with the loved ones with character any day, then again I am a scruffy git and am probably not qualified to comment on fashion matters :D

Ha - love it !!!

Me on the other hand, I iron my pants !!!!!

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great advice - get it, ride it, love it! - Cheers.

The Rascal is all unpacked and looks stunning - very chuffed with it - small matter of building it up now - mostly I want NOS or very good quality XT for it throughout but will start another thread for that.

That said, if anyone has any mint XT gear from '92 / '93 - I've got a lot to collect!!!

Cheers
