Why are eBay protecting the addresses of sellers by default?

I have made a purchase of a ton, why should I have to ask for the seller's contact details?

...And why are the details often inaccurate?

Tut tut!

Ebay have to be by far the largest purveyor of if you cant see it then it probably doesnt exist so lets not talk about it
Look at the whole bidding info section
First you could see who won
They made that anonymous [and i suppose that is a good thing
But you could get some info concerning bids with that seller, retractions etc.
Then they removed that to make it completely anonymous so you can no longer tell a buyers history with that seller if they are bidding then withdrawing and you could get an idea if there is shill bidding going on or any other poo behaviour :?

Look at their email us section
For such a large company they are remarkably difficult to get a hold of.If you want to complain you must specify an exact reason and for the most part that isnt easy as they wont include that topic
Im really pants at explaining  but im guessing you all know what im talking about

Well the moment ebay sided with the seller when the ipad i bought went missing in the post, i swore never to use ebay again. That said its just too convenient not to mention addictive.

Have to agree with you, there are so few logical reasons for some of what is going on with Ebay.

I am guessing they have changed the setup for market reasons, to keep their position as the 'go to' provider of easy auctions.

The fact they own Gumtree should be warning enough.

Dodgy car, dodgy bike, dodgy Dodgy CDs?

Get it on Gumtree!
