ebay - report a non paying bidder?

So I sold a few bits at the weekend, all have gone fine except one. No payment or contact, now after a couple of emails and an invoice the guy says if can't afford it and I should second chance offer the item.

So, assuming the other bidder accepts, i'm less than a quid worse off. Not fussed about that but it is a hassle and I don't know why he bid so close to the end of the auction if he had no money.

Would you report him to ebay? I've not lost out much but what if if does this all the time and nobody bothers reporting it?

I'd just second chance offer it to the other person, its a bit annoying but if its only a pound...

Report. Can't stand people who p*ss about like this. May teach him lesson to????

A bit more information: just checked his feedback and he's found the cash to pay for 2 items the day before my auction ended and another 1 yesterday! All thanking him for his prompt payment

i would let it go. if you report him and he gets annoyed by it, he can do a lot more harm to you that you can to him.

someone once refused to sell a car to a friend as it was too cheap (ebay 99p start no reserve, even listed as a bargain car!) . my friend then clicked the buy it now on about 5 grand's worth of his listings and then refused to cancel the transactions!

Hmm, I don't sell a lot but couldn't I just block his future bids?

yeah and he can just make another account, its seriously not worth the hassle.

The simplest thing is to get him to ask to null the auction. You get your money back from eBay and offer a second chance to the next in line.

But he's still a berk.

If it was a genuine mistake, I'd let it slide. He bought items before and after your auction? Burn him at the stake.

Ach well, I do think the right, community-minded, thing to do would be to report him. Don't think I can be bothered though.
