I love that bike, full of so many nice fine details.

If the exchange rate was still two dollars to the pound I would say yes $350 is worth the price (to me personally).

It could well be 'worth' more than that but im no expert... Id just say buy it and keep it in your collection - its sweet!

Wow. A bike like that isn't going to come up for sale very often.
Well, you said it right there. It's been listed here for $400 for a while. I will offer him $350 and pick it up tonight. I think every collection should have at least one good example of a mass produced bike.

Given the condition it is definitely worth $350. I sold a similar Specialized in worse condition for $275 so the price appears to be right.

That does look good; the price isn't bad.

Though I would say it's a 83 rather than 82 only based on the components. perhaps I'm wrong, but didn't the 82 stumpjumpers come with different brake levers/ handle bar grips, and stem/bars?

I thought the 82 was spec'd with the nitto golf club stem with high riser bars, and those motorcycle levers with grips. Perhaps I'm thinking of the stumpjumper and not the stumpjumper sport- if there's a difference.

the owner had a friend that worked for specialized. The bike is an 82 but he got to spec it himself. The flame decals were actually done by the employee because the owner worked for Santa Cruz skateboards and those are the company decals. It even has the original factory fenders. I picked up the bike today and it is in great shape.

That's great news, Sandman. I'm sure that the guy who sold this bike to you is relieved to see that it's gone to somebody who really appreciates what they've bought. 8)
