early Shimano 105 dual pivot calipers

I've bought a 1985 Raleigh Ventura for Winter service but want to upgrade the brakes from the Weinmann single pivots and fit aero levers.

Apart from the brakeset it's all Golden Arrow (is that OE or upgrade), so I thought it would be nice to fit a 105 brakeset.

Although I am having the forks drilled for a recessed fitting, the brake bridge isn't suitable for drilling so I will be fitting two front calipers.

Could someone please tell me when dual pivot 105 were introduced and what the model number is?

I have also seen that later calipers have to be used with specific levers on account of SLR: what are the latest calipers that don't need specific levers?

Nutted NOS 105's are still available. JD whiskers a distributor still has stock of them, I buy from them regularly.

105sc (1056) was the first Dual pivots in the 105 range. They're the ones with the pearl white finish so wouldn't fit in very well with the rest of the group.

IMO you have a few options that will look less obstrusive: RX100 (would be my choice), Dura Ace 7410 or 105 (5700). There maybe some others like certain era's of Tiagra etc, but those are the ones that come to my mind.

I think SJS Cycles sell a longer bolt that replaces the rear brake's short bolt so you can fit it like normal.
