I was staying in Croyde this weekend, and on a walk with my girlfriend spotted a very sad looking Marin Palisades Trial abandoned on a footpath. Not sure of the year, but it had the full length metal Shimano levers, thumbshifters and a rear chainstay u-brake - so probably '86ish?
It was locked up with a piddly little chain lock, but looked to have been there a good few months - rusted chain, grass growing around the tyres, etc.
Unfortunately she who must be obeyed drew the line at me rescuing the poor thing (and fair play, it would've looked a bit odd returning to the B&B with an old MTB in tow
) I couldn't take a photo as my phone had died :roll:
Anyway, if anyone is local to Croyde and wants to rescue the poor wee beastie, I can point you in the right direction.
