8 speed so mid 90's then? Wonder why there is a 'conventional' cable attached to the rear mech but not the front? The middle bike just seems to have a single connection. Where were the 'actuators'?

Maybe a mechanical back up so that if the rider lost power then he would not be stuck in a difficult gear like 52 x 12.

Don't think 12's were around then....

But I know what you mean :wink:

Mind you, I would lose power myself with a 52x12 never mind the bike!
