My son has outgrown his 20" wheel bike so needs something larger. I asked him if he'd like to build his own bike and the answer was a definite yes, so I started looking for something suitable. Racin'snake had this little GT up for sale, I thought I'd missed out but then he got back to me and the deal was done
I don't think we'll get it up to Ant's JMC replica specialized, but I think it will turn out OK...
We spent yesterday evening stripping the whole thing down, my lad did most of the work (with some help!). Next on the list is a good clean, polish, touch up the paint work, and start building again. We'll probably be going 1x9 to lighten things up a little, and keep it simple. A V brake will go on the front, not really needed as he's not heavy, but I think they're easier to pull at the lever, and the levers themselves are smaller so a better fit for his hands.
